LDR/CandCNC Computer No Power

Postby KIDTech » Sun Jul 03, 2016 2:18 pm

My computer will not turn on at all and I have quite a bit of work to do. Does anyone know the configuration/setup steps for a new computer, I do have the backup drive but my HD is still good as well so I can move it over pretty easy to a new box.

I think I would change out the power supply in the computer first. Thanks most likely the issue.
Moving it over to a new computer with the old drive Windows will see that it is not the same motherboard/processor and give you a license issue.
When I bought my used Dell, I bought two identical ones.

The way to do that is to add your old HD to the new system and copy the Mach 3 folder over to the new system's HD. As stated above you just cannot move the old HD to another system unless it has the identical motherboard and chip set. Windows will not complete the boot up it will just go so far and then reboot itself over and over again.
Have you tried to replace the coin battery on the old motherboard first, I did have one some time back that would not run and I changed the battery and it worked fine after that.

Yeah I should have been clearer on this, I have a NexStar Storage Adapter to pull data from a HD. I was wondering about putting that data on a new machine and if I have to adjust some of the configuration files. I have a w530 sitting that has a ethernet port so I was just going to run off that machine until I talk with LDR or CandCNC. Thanks for the help guys.
