I managed to integrate a CandCNC ohmic sensor to signal my ESS for probing. It's not hard and only $75 if you want the option.
Z-Home wire to +5VDC and COM to your input of choice. Doesn't make sense to me because COM I originally had to Ground and Z-home to the input. Didn't do anything. Maybe mislabeled?

To the Original Poster, can you explain what type of system you have? I would love to install ohmic on my G540 with LCTHC but I believe I cannot with this torch height control.

ESS running Mach3. Doesn't matter what system you have. If it accepts 5V logic, then it works on anything.

Re: Ohmic Sensing for the hardcore DIY'er
I know I am digging up an old post but this did not work for me. Just got my feather touch in and cannot for the life of me getting the input to show in Mach3. I believe that the voltage is too low, though the light comes on for the input (measured 2.7v). No matter how it is configured in mach it still doesn't trigger. Any advice or input would be greatly appreciated.

Hi
I managed to use the Feathertouch box on both my Torchmate 3 and LinuxCNC system. Sorry I can't help I have never used Mach. There should be plenty of people here that can help because all the CandCNC stuff from old (including the Feathertouch box) ran using Mach.

I used it on my DIY table. Stand alone for ohmic only. Have a separate limit/home switch assigned to a different input.
