Another what's this part called?

Post by GoingCustom »

I'm surprised to have this many parts breaking within two years. I appreciate those who chimed in on the flexible coupling thread. I am in need of one of these now.

I can't tell from the photo what make or model yours is (Import SBR20's ?) but most linear bearings have replaceable parts. The old ball bearing/guide assembly (made from what looks like plastic or nylon) can be removed from the metal carrier and simply replaced. It just depends. I'd contact the folks you got them or the machine from. If they are china imports look up the model/part number online. In some cases (especially the lower priced imports) replacement parts may not be an easily obtainable option or it may be cheaper to just buy the complete bearing assembly and be done with it. One way or the other, get a couple of extras to have on hand.

It's a LDR table. Not sure where he gets the parts from. Sent him an email already, but it's after hours on the east coast already. Up against some deadlines, so trying to get the part ordered tonight if I can to get it overnighted. The flexible coupling was $14 and $105 to overnight from NY, but found on Amazon for $18 and was $4 to overnight (Amazon Prime account).

no clicking sound, but the plate the torch attaches to was getting hung up on the guide rails. When it would touch material, it would stick in place and then when it'd raise back up, it would be higher than would it should be. So then when the arc starts, it would plunge the tip into the materials, tripping the limit switch.
