Scribe skipping first line?

Post by RandyL »

I see there are other post of similar issue, cannot seem to find answer.

History:
just added a scribe to my plasma table, bkaderunner ethercut system.
running post 11D, (I see others have later versions but I don't know where they are downloadable from)
Problem:
Scribe does a peck on first line, then moves to second line to scribe and it run's the remainder of layer fine.
It also stops when it finishes scribe layer, I have to hit run again for it to do the plasma perimeter cut. ( I see the code is telling it to wait for me to hit start). does this need to stop, or can I somehow turn that off so it goes from scribe to plasma?

I can run scribe, I just have to place a line that I do not want and make it my start point. It pecks first line then moves through remainder layer fine..

Any help is much appreciated,
Randy

Hi randy, I seem to remember there being a few bugs with the scribe in earlier posts. You might want to try one of the latest posts to see it it fixes your problem. You can download the latest CandCNC posts from the CandCNC website. http://candcnc.com/index.php/firmware-updates
About halfway down you will find "Support Files Latest SheetCAM TNG (version 6.0.1 or later) with DCC upgrade"

Hope this helps, Steve

Updated to 11M1
first line cuts now.
New problem, when loading file to mach, it does not completely load code. it stops loading when it hits the end of first layer. so it quits the line before plasma. I forced it through but that is not right...
it also skipped a couple lines in the scribe..

so one problem solved, a new problem surfaced.

If Mach stops on a line when loading it means that line is bad (has a problem)

Mach is loading complete file now.. not sure why..
still skipping random lines. It seems to run cursive letters fine, skips on apostrophe square, one side (between letters) (scribes 3 of the four sides of square sides)
when I load and run the 2"sq box with x open lines it makes one dot on line, moves to next line and makes one dot and stops.

It looks to me like code is not correct in mach? looking for ideas on how to resolve. why would it cut out non straight lines and not simple straight lines?? :?:
