How would you handle the grille on this truck?

Doing a conversion for a custom fire pit. Here's the original photo: 20170602_195409-shrunk.jpg Here's where I'm at so far: Capture-trace.JPG I'm curious how you would handle that mesh grille, the ram logo in the middle, and the bars. 1) I'm considering cutting all the "mesh" out, and leav...

Did I see in a Facebook message that Pronest will come standard with every NGEN? If that's accurate, this sounds like a REAL step up in the offerings!

Re: Vinyl cutters

I went with a Silhouette Cameo 3 for now. Under $200, gets me going, not a huge learning curve, and should be easy to sell later, if I so choose. I've come to the conclusion that if business warrants a larger cutter, I'll pony up the $ for a nicer servo unit.

Re: Excel Spreadsheet For Quoting Plasma Cutting

Interestingly enough, I am starting to find myself going the other way. I swore by the spreadsheet/app for a while. Now, though, I'm looking for a quicker way to estimate pricing. One that the customer can understand easier, as well. I think I'm going to go with the $/sq ft model. I think my pricing...

-.060" cut height (for circles under 1-1/4" diameter height control can be in manual, larger use height control and adjust arc voltage until height is at .060" during cut) Jim, I've seen you mention several times that the Finecuts often work best with a cut height of .075-.08. And th...

Re: Hypertherm Finecut-85A tool sets / cut charts for Sheetcam

Everything should be book spec, EXCEPT: 1) Finecut mild steel are set at .076" pierce height, .075" cut height. Book is .15 and .06. Several times I've seen Jim Colt mention that .075-.08 cut height works best with the Finecut, so that's what I put in there. That's what I've been using for...

Re: Best way to learn this stuff

Look up the Arclight instructional videos on Youtube. They use Inkscape for drawing (free), and Sheetcam for the CAM controller. I'm not sure what your hardware setup is, which may determine what is recommended. I believe QCAD is a free CAD program, as well.

Julie do you use the Bezier curve tool to put the small lines in ? I really love the one with all the all the body lines. I noticed it is in 2 layers and I'm having a problem combining the two. I've never drawn anything in layers, can I use the file as is and select multiple layers in sheetcam or d...

45XP manual. Will have cut charts in it. May or may not be exact for your particular setup, but will have you in the ballpark. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwiyhrXdjZTUAhVkLMAKHfbhD2YQFggoMAA&url=https%3A%...

Hypertherm Finecut-85A tool sets / cut charts for Sheetcam

We've had some pretty nasty storms here today, so I haven't wanted to power up the table and do any cutting. I JUST got back up from 1.5 weeks down, due to some damaged boards/components in my CandCNC box as well as the PM85. I literally installed my Rev2 DTHCIV card this morning, after it arrived i...

45A cut chart differences...PM45XP vs PM85

I'm taking some time to get everything cleaned up / squared away from my recent Linux/CommandCNC upgrade. Part of this is making sure the tool chart in Sheetcam/Linux is correct. I've got 45A cut charts from the 45XP manual, as well as my PM85. The XP manual lists some thicknesses that are not liste...

Re: Tip Slag Finecut nozzles

Finecuts are more finicky, so any variance between your setup and the one Hypertherm used to create book specs (such as conductive path from arc to work lead, including sheet metallurgy, water splashing, if you clamp directly to sheet or go through slats, etc) will be amplified. You'll just have to ...

Re: Trouble with THC voltage

Tom, Could the below routing of the divider card wiring between the leads be causing an issue? The photo with the red lines is a different user. He found the wiring suspect, and wanted to see if it was standard wiring. The two photos without the red lines are from my PM85, which suffered divider boa...
