Storing cut pieces/stock vertically

Guys, I'm curious what methods you use to store your cut panels/stock pieces vertically. I'm not talking sheets, but rather finished cut pieces that you have in inventory. Things for shows, needs packaged for shipment, etc. Stuff up to 3/16" thick. I was thinking of cutting slots in 3-4" P...

Re: Not cutting all the way through in certain areas

Jim suggests that increasing the cut height alone will fix it. I found the only sure-fire way to fix it was to cut at .075 as well as reduce speed 10%. A bit more dross, but much better than trying to pick cuts back up, etc.

Re: NUMBER OF PIERCINGS BY HYPERTHERM CONSUMABLES

I will tell you that I get way more pierces than I thought I was. This. I don't have a pierce counter, but when I DON'T crash out the torch head, I'm amazed at how long the consumables last in 3/16" and less materials. I cut thicker than that, but not regularly, so I don't know how long they g...

Re: Keeping DXF file photos safe

Add in a good sized fuzzy drop shadow to your pictures and take the picture at a slight angle. This will make it exceptionally difficult for someone to get a decent trace without doing a lot of work. If they can fix that then they can copy anything, even an obstructive watermark. Can you explain wh...

Likely a software issue. Inkscape is a free software program. Use it to see if you can convert to .svg, and see if your printer likes that better.

Re: Removing powder coat finish

I powder coat yeti tumblers and usually have to strip old or powdercoat I screwed up. I use O'Reilly's airplane stripper in the rattle can. Sprayed on liberally and then let sit for about 20 minutes. It should peel off like a loose skin. Any powder left over can be cleaned up with a Scotch-Brite pa...

Re: Hypertherm 45XP Fine Cut Help

I think this is an apples and oranges thing when you are moving the probe down that is plunge speed, the cut speed and feed rate is cut speed. Could also have to do with not zero-ing your Z, or setting the material as having a thickness. Or not having your touch off configured correctly (for switch...

Correct. Standard speeds are preferable. Low speeds work, but create more dross.

Re: 3/4" SS kicking my butt

What are the specs of your air compressor? 15.x CFM at 90psi. I took care of the angularity (new O ring, 65a process instead of 85a process), but never did get rid of the lack of cut-through at the end of the cut. Even more weird, the same thing showed up (in what appeared to be the exact same dist...

3/4" SS kicking my butt

I've got a 3/4" ss job I'm working on. I cannot seem to get this to cut right. I'm practicing with a straight 2.5" cut. The actual cut is to be 6' (72in) long. :/ Here are a couple of the biggest issues: 1) about 1/2 way through the cut, my angularity goes all to shit. I've swapped consuma...

Re: Spraying Chrome

It's my understanding that chrome must be fully cured on it's own before applying any top coat (candy, clear, etc). It's also my understanding that under-curing will lead to the more dull-gray look, vs a bright chrome.

I keep a scrap trailer just because I need a place to store my scrap material. When it's full, I run it up to the salvage yard so I can empty it and continue having a place to pile my scrap material. I stop by Taco Bell on the way home, and spend my proceeds on the dollar menu.

I used to have this issue as well, with my Mach/Windows controller. I was running something like 40-45ips^2 accel rates on my Bulltear/Starlab table. Same thing as you, at the "transition point" my torch would have a little "hiccup", resulting in a small divot entering and exitin...
