Re: Selling someone elses design

This is a difficult subject. But i hear ya. If you take an image from the internet or any other site and copy it ...make a slight change to it...then you have little chance with Ebay. i had the same thing happen to me with a wood wallart. The only difference was that mine was recycled wood.....and t...

Re: Large double sided LED backlit sign from Jim Colts shop

Great job Jim. Cant miss that sign. How do you precisely reposition this heavy piece of metal to index without issues?
Thin gauge is already a challenge....lol

Haahaha this is funny. Any image on the internet is the work of someone else. So if that's a fair statement....nobody should share anything!!! That sign is 2 horses and the word welcome. Unless the word "Welcome" is the work of someone else??? lol I agree with not copying BRANDS and copyri...

sunflowers in a frame

Hi plasmaspiders.... Here is a reclaimed barnwood frame with Metal Sunflowers and birds finished with Steel FX dies and airbrushing. How much do you think I should price something like this: Wood 14$ and metal 10$ maybe. Took me 2 hours to cut and finish. it's final size is 14" x 20" Thank...

Congratulations young man. It is indeed a great start for your first piece.
Glad to see young teenagers learning new ways to express their creativity.
Keep up the good work.

Thanks guys, I appreciate your input.
yes, finishing is a bit harder to define, especially when I never know how it will end up looking like...lol

I think I'll charge him 325$. That's a fair price I think.

Artwork Price estimate

Hi guys, I cut this file 32 x 46 from this site last year for my cottage and now a customer wants to have one made but a bit smaller. What do you think a fair price should be for an item like that? Very nice. But NO NO NO..... this is way too cheap. Unless you are making it for a friend at cost...-:)
That sign , If i had to make it....would be minimum 2,500$ to $3,000.

My 2 cents

Re: How can this be $24?

I tend to add a differentiatior to my metal/wood art. Yes it is more time consuming but i can ask for a higher price. With all the free dxf's out there it doesnt take too much talent to cut and spray paint with black and sell on the internet for cheap prices. It's a numbers game at that point. I mad...

Thanks for the post, if you zoom waaay into where the right rear strut meets the plane body you'll find a teeny tiny line that intersects. Probably never cause a cutting problem but you never know. Thank you everyone for the help fitting the pieces together. Why? Only showed up 2-3 days a week. Refused to clean up the cutter area - "not part of his job". He's an "artist" - not manual labor. Would charge us double the design hours he actually worked... it was just a bad sit...
