c7 Corvette

I found a Corvette here on the forum and thought it was exactly what my customer wanted! Turns out it was a C6. Who knew - I sure didn't. Anyway does anyone have a profile view of the new C7 Corvette?

Thank you!!

Re: Plasmaroute still around?

I've seen an advertisement on Facebook. Maybe try that avenue. I've got an older Blaze machine that I've had for about 5 years. Just this past year I lost the hard drive on my shop computer. Sent numerous emails and finally got a response back from them. We set up an appointment and they helped me g...

Re: Sheetcam error

I've had the same error numerous times. On some drawings its just a matter of moving or deleting a node, but I did not have this issue on earlier versions of Sheetcam.

Do you use Mach3? Try closing the file in Mach3. I've had this happen to me.

Re: Returning to 0.0

Thanks guys. acourtjester - everything is okay when I "process" the file from Sheetcam to Mach3. The torch will move back to the home location.

tcaudle - I will look into those drop down boxes to see if I can get the last lead out to go back to the home location.

Thanks again

Returning to 0.0

Just recently I lost the motherboard to my shop computer. I am trying to get SheetCam to work and I think that I have most of the issues solved. The one issue that I am having is when I set up my cut path I do not see how to get that path to return home. For example if I am cutting a square - I assi...

Re: Request for 2nd amendment security sign

This is my version of this sign. The pistol sticks out about 1/2 inch from the backdrop, gives it a 3d type look.

Re: What would you charge? 16 GA

Using the Excel spreadsheet that I found here on PlasmaSpider and making some adjustments namely in the price of the sheet metal I would charge $21.97 for the 5 pieces. That is also an adjustment point - meaning if I cut 6 the cost would drop to $20.05. Hope this helps.

Re: What metal to use?

If you have a metal business near you ask to see if they have drops. Drops are left over from someone who only needs a portion of a full sheet. I try to get drops as I don't really have room in my shop to store the larger pieces. Usually you can get any size gauge, that way you can experiment.

Not for sure if you have CorelDraw or not, but here is something that I came up with. I don't have the dxf tool on this computer. This should get you going - -

Carol - draw the smaller circle and convert to curves. Draw the larger circle and also convert to curves. Highlight the smaller circle using the pick tool and hit the "P" key. This will center that circle to the center point of your layout. Do the same with the larger circle. Highlight bot...

Re: Pricing Help

One of the price structures that I use is this formula -- ((length*width)/144*20). I change the last number to reflect what I am doing for the customer. In this example I used 20 for metal that I cut and clean (remove dross, etc.), 25 if I paint and 30 if I powdercoat. So in your example it would be...

Do a search on spreadsheet and you will find a very helpful way to charge your customers, especially those that you are doing multiple parts.

Re: what machine?

There are numerous machines in this market. I am currently running the Plasma Route 4 x 4 water table and the only issue I've had is my own fault - tip ups have slowed me down a couple of times. One call to either Steve or Nikki and the part is on the way. They are located in Ada, Okla. I actually d...

Your best bet is to join this forum. This will allow you to download the dxf's. It will be the best $20 you will ever spend, plus you will get to download a set of files from Cascade Metal Designs. Up near the top on the right you should see a box that says Renewal. Click on Renewal and follow the i...

Re: Purchase Confusion

Check out Plasma Route - they have a 4 x 4 water table. That is the one that I currently own. I've had mine almost 3 years and have not had any problems concerning the machine. I have had an issue with tip-up and I wished I had a magnetic release. One call to Nikki and the part was on the way! This ...
