Re: Help needed please

Not being a car guy I have to ask. What is it? Wait! When I ran my mouse over it revealed it. Holden. David 1964 Holden (as in General Motors Holden) special sedan, also available as a station wagon, panel van and ute or utility. Probably the next most popular of the Aussie Holdens to the FX/ FJ. Gee, that's never happened before.

Glad you got it sorted though, a least you have it running again, that's the main thing.

Re: Cleaning up stainless and aluminum cut edges

I have a Rosco to clean up our stainless stuff, aluminium comes up pretty good straight off the table, just some small bits of dross on the back where the slats are which mostly come off when the job is pressure cleaned. Oh, what's a Rosco you ask. Well Rosco is one of the guys in the shop who loves...

Re: Tips for spotting looped lines/artifacts in drawings?

Another way is to import the file into Sheetcam and check for additional pierce points on any of the lines. Where you can normally click to move the start point on a closed path, with any of these tiny loops the start point wont move so either go back to the drawing and fix or edit the G-code to tak...

Re: Corel Draw X8 SVG Export to Sheetcam

Sorry, I don't get on here very often any more. Can I offer a suggestion to try. Try going back to the start, as in Corel and rather than using the Bezier tool, try using the Polyline tool and see if that delivers you a better result. What I suspect may be happening is that when you manually remove ...

I don't have problems exporting SVG into sheetcam, I use an older version on one table and the development on others.

Good job. Found another use for those stray hearts, used them to join some of the loose floating letters in the word "heart" and bumped the letters together on the word "with". I dropped the node count down a tad too.

Re: Surface finishing tool

Yea, muriatic acid is the ticket. Spray it outside and realize that your spray bottles will NOT last more than one day spraying...the acid just ruins them so get a package of some really cheapies. . We use the 1 litre (quart) pump up type spray bottles, about $6 each but get quite a while out of th...

Re: Tools yo are using to tansfer a poster board template

Cameras have some lens distortion on the edges so making the image fill baout 70% of the area helps bu the most important thing is to have the camera square to the object (90 degrees) in both planes. <snip> In the original find and mark the approx center of the object . If you can draw a vertical l...

Re: Tools yo are using to tansfer a poster board template

I do pretty much as you have stated, Take the photo, square on from as far away as practical and zoom to the picture but first draw some grid lines at 100 centres on the image to be photographed and traced. I then bring it into Corel, you can then use these grid lines to scale it on your page. ie if...

Re: changing line colours

And if you want to set a different color to draw the project ie if you are tracing a black bmp you may want to use a yellow line, when you open the project right click the color before selecting any drawing tool and it will use that color until you change it. You can set the fill color the same way ...

Re: Hypertherm PM 45 Air issue ?

I've had the same issue from about the same time, replaced and pulled down solenoids and quite a few other things but we have just come to accept that any time the table has been idle we have to do a couple of air fires to ensure it starts. Running Neuron now it does two more re-trys if it fails to ...

Re: PM45 Cut Quality

Just to update on pierce count, I run Neuron THC which gives me a count of pierces so I asked my guy on the table to reset and write down the pierce count since I posted this last week. He has changed out two nozzles and electrodes and been cutting mostly 16 and 14 gauge but some 1/8" and 3/16&...

Re: PM45 Cut Quality

Yes, the shield gets blocked vent holes very often. Each time before i start cutting I attempt to clean them with a acy/oxy torch tip cleaner. If they are plugged then i usually cant get them unplugged and have to get a new shield. On the rare occasions that i cut anything bigger than 16 gauge the ...

Re: Moving start points on open paths

Can't see "on the fly" type starts working on anything thicker than about 14 gauge as XY motion is already happening when it pierces. You could try making your lead in as more of an arc or tangent, even extend it up the cut line by about 2mm before add ing the arced lead-in and let the two...

*** Please don't include my comment in the first 5, it's not a file I'd ever use here in Australia. I'd rather it went to someone who can use it but thanks anyway.

Re: PM45 Cut Quality

Jim, what's the best way to clean the vent holes on the shield? I have had great success by just soaking them in my Hydarochloric (muriatic) acid mix for about half an hour an then blow out with compressed air. I have shield that have done thousands of hours cutting and been soaked many times. Murray

I went from X5 to X8 which I think was worth while, I think most only upgrade every two or three versions. I have three seats so upgrading every version gets a bit expensive.
