Re: Torchmate Control Box

I am think that I can replace teh PCB plug teh drives back in , plugin a UC400eth and be about ready to go with ethernet from the PC to the control box. This could really benefit teh older serial based controllers. And being able to reuse teh drives is a plus. THEN for THC you can add in a thc contr...

Re: Torchmate Control Box

Thanks Murray THAT is exactly what I wanted to see. What I am looking into is taking out teh USB/serial FlashCut motion card and install a UC400eth then hooking all teh drives back up. The new UC400eth has very goog THC functions and very smooth motion.

Hi Guys, UCcnc is an intersting control /Controller software combination. ALL thc related functions are handled at eh CONTROLLER itself not in the controller software. Re: Customer not interested - fair price ??

When deciding to do a job like this there are several things to consider. #1 is how is your hole quality ? This part depends on a fairly accurate and to proper size hole to be able to be used. Other wise he will have to spend time on redrilling the holes so the bolts will fit. #2 as a 1 man shop can...

Les had told me there was a way to do it all to be able to use teh international language feature but I do not have a clue as how to do it. The Machine cost are based on teh operational cost of teh machine per sec. Here I use $100 per hour or $0.028 per sec. IF this is something you would really lik...

Re: Ok, so I'm going to ground my table.

Aslo a lot of DIYers don't know that Common and ground are NOT the same thing when wiring a controller MIXING components such as PC and controller boards and Inouts/Ouputs. Most end up creating a maze of ground loops.

Re: Ok, so I'm going to ground my table.

That approach would never pass code here as you are NOT allowed to force stray currents into teh safey ground side ONLY fault currents. By bounding ALL of your discharge grounds to teh sytem ground that is exactly what you are doing. AND you are allowing any fault current to flow backwards to your A...

Re: Problems when cutting art work

I think you will find you have a pin config setting wrong for the arc ok signal. NOTHING should happen until mach3 sees the arc ok signal . NOW if Mach3 sees teh signal as ON all the time it will start motion instantly doing what you are describing . Otherwise it shoudl NOT move until it sees teh Ar...

Re: Ok, so I'm going to ground my table.

The welder has its OWN ground back through the plugin for power it is a safety ground. Adding a second ground there CAN cause problems. AND I doubt it would pass local elec codes . The safety ground is NOT suppose to carry any intentional current only fault currents.

Re: How far do you push your Z axis?

YES there is. Got to COnfig ,pins and ports and setup teh THC up/down signals as emulated and assign a key for each. Do what testing you want to do then turn it back off.

Re: Ok, so I'm going to ground my table.

Now here is something to consider. The Ground wire side of a plasma cutter is teh POSITIVE side of teh curcuit. What is going to happen IF you inject all of that current into teh ground field AND your safety ground IF you develope a ground loop ??

Just a thought, (;-) TP

Re: serrated cuts

Have you tried cutting with teh THC turn off. Its it the same problem with it off ??

Try Turning teh THC SPEED % down . Cut the value in half to test . IF it is too fast for teh THC it will cause those ocilations in Z.

Re: Problem with x and y speed

You DO NOT redo the steps per for SPEED . It is ONLY used to setup distance. IF that part is accurate then LEAVE it alone. What controller are you using and exactly how did you test this. You would normally test each axis in a straight line one axis at a time.

It does worry me that IF they end up being a BAD EGG as far as an Oem distributer that they are STILL allowed to advertise here.

A bad egg does not need to be rewarded with more sales. SO IF they do turn out to be a bad egg someone needs to make a decision (;-)
