Re: Downloaded File Problem

Bring it into Inkscape, save it as a .PNG image, then open a new file in Inkscape, import the .png image and trace it's outline. then save as a differently named .DXF

Sheetcam Metric Toolset for Hypertherm 45 ?

Can anyone help me find a Sheetcam Metric Toolset for Hypertherm 45 ?

I'm sure I down loaded one once but for the life of me cannot find it again. I can re-recreate it by typing it all in again, but it's a slog I'd much rather avoid if some kind soul can point me in the right direction

Consider replacing it with an Oldham style coupling to avoid future breakages from wind up

Jim, how does the 45 XP differ from the straight 45 ?

Re: Q on welding issue with 14ga steel - now cleat mounting system

Alternative is to use a stud welder to weld short threaded studs onto your backing plate, and fix the saw tooth that way. With 18 gauge my stud welder would leave no sign on the 'fair' side that it had happened, and certainly no distortion.

Re: Best Slat shape - pros and cons

Yes I have a full set of plain ones 'ready' leaning against the wall for when needed.

I'm slightly surprised that no one has yet chirped up in favour of the pointy ones - I would welcome comments from anyone using them.

Best Slat shape - pros and cons

So what's the best shape for table slats? When I rebuilt my table I made the slats slightly curved - they had been straight, but they are conventional rather than the 'pointed spikey' ones I see in some designs. So what do you think is the best slat shape ? I ask as yesterday I was cutting some 6 mm...

Re: CAD/CAM software help

I have Fusion 360 loaded up and have played with it and even made parts using it's Heidenhain post processor on my TNC355 controlled mill. To be honest the vast majority of my work is 2D or at most 2.5D. Fusion 360 is very comprehensive and is developing fast. As I'm a hobbyist it's free for me - I'...

Re: Round image in file changing shape when transferred???

This is one reason I like to draw or assemble images in Inkscape, and adjust so that it looks as I want it, then export it as a PNG image - THEN open a new file in Inkscape, import the PNG file, trace the bitmap outline so you get vectors, and save it as an SVG. SheetCAM is then very happy to gobble...

Inkscape will open DXF files - on the file menu go to IMPORT and select the DXF file type from the drop down menu.

I believe the Torch On signal is a relay contact closure. Sounds as though the contact is permanently closed - could be the relay driver or the relay itself.

Re: Hypertherm Powermax 45 CNC Interface Cable

The Pucka Hypertherm interface cable is rather nice stuff. Three twisted pairs of stranded wire each pair individually screened then iirc an overall screen around the three. Mine was a heck of a mess when I got it, so I had to shorten and re-make the ends. It had no cable restraints when I got it, a...
