Re: Cutting metal Mesh

I cut expanded metal on mine quite a bit. Just switch your plasma cutter to the interrupted cut setting and turn off dthc.

I use Illustrator and AutoCad to do all of my drawings. I don't ever have any of those issues.

No jig necessary. Just line up the pieces like you are putting a puzzle together.

Re: Illustrator Double Cut Path

When you do an image trace, expand the advanced tab and select Ignore white. This will make it not outline around the white as well as the black. You will still have to change the internal color of the image if you don't want to have to delete it after exporting.

I shovel it into an empty 55 gallon drum and then take it to the scrap yard with my other scrap. They dump the drum out and I'm on my way.

Re: Can't figure this out...

I took a video of whats going on. https://youtu.be/myM6G--6EI0 I have an LDR table as well. When mine does that I've noticed that somehow the z-axis readout will be way off like 6" or more. All I do is manually move the torch back close to the material, zero the z-axis and proceed. Not sure wh...

Re: My First Share "Dog Feeder"

With the corners of the pieces radiused, don't you end up with voids at the corners when you weld the pieces together? Yes. But that was my intention so it came out perfect. You can easily change it to suit your needs. http://www.plasmaspider.com/images/dog-feed.jpg IMG_2403.jpg IMG_2405.jpg

I don't know how to post a drawing, but i put a 1/2" circle and split it right on the outer line. The pieces that do come through are no worse than an ember flying up and out of the pit. I have even started cutting small pieces of expanded metal to put on the bottom when i make bigger holes. Cl...

Re: cutting 1/4" plate at 65 amps vs 45 amps?

Yes, your ipm should increase going from 45 to 65 amp. I have a 105 and still cut 1/4" detail art work at 45 amps due to the quality being so good.
