Re: Hypertherm Powermax 45 CNC Interface Cable

Wow Andrew Mawson ,
Is that what Hypertherm are charging $75USD for ???
That is shocking and a downright rip off in my book and so much for made in the USA quality

Re: Hypertherm Powermax 45 CNC Interface Cable

Thanks Jim, But Andrew from Neuron informed of that fact so I am connecting it to the Raw Voltage inputs of his I/O interface board.

Re: Hypertherm Powermax 45 CNC Interface Cable

The designer of the THC that I am using has told me it is ok to just tap into the pin-outs of the CNC interface plug and connect them to his I/O interface board's Raw Voltage inputs and Bob's your uncle and save the $100 + BTW if you want a decent THC looks at Neuron http://neuroncnc.com/products/ne...

Hypertherm Powermax 45 CNC Interface Cable

I am about to try and hook up Hypertherm Powermax 45 to a homemade CNC table which did have a Hypertherm Powermax 30 on it before which was connected to a Neuron Simplicity THC via a Hall Sensor and the I/O interface board to the BOB. The guy's 45 has the CNC interface port and here in good Oz the t...

Re: PITA

Mate I would have to agree with most of your sentiments about CNC plasma cutting. My previous experiences has all been with home built CNC routers, mill, and CO2 laser Nearly all of them ran quite well after the usual teething problems so hen I got the urge to try a CNC Plasma I was pretty naive to ...

Nice job and thanks for the file, I will have to make one for myself.
I made years ago, that also doubled as a bead roller and I did some ally tin work for a mates race car.
I love homemade tools :)

Re: Best budget minded THC for thin corrugated steel?

Mikeysp the Neuron is definitely not your cheapest option but seeing that you can contact the designer of the Neuron, Andrew to answer your questions in detail must tell you something at least. How does that compare with a Proma for example From what I understand the Lite version doesn't rely on Mac...

Re: Best budget minded THC for thin corrugated steel?

Thank you Dingo. Do you operate with Mach? UCCNC? How responsive and quick is the Simplicity to changing height at speed on warped thin steel? I am using Mach3 on a laptop with an Ethernet Smoothstepper which has been faultless so far but I am still on the learning curve of using my machine. I deci...

Re: Best budget minded THC for thin corrugated steel?

I recently got a Neuron Simplicity and so far it has been good and Andrew's service and help in setting it up were invaluable, no forums just one on one sessions via Skype in my case until we had it working perfectly, and that alone makes the price difference worth the extra. As they say you get wha...

Re: First Cut

One of the problems is probably moisture related. One day it is 110 degrees and the next day it's tropical humidity and I live close to the ocean and that is something that I have been looking at adding to the system. The Hypertherm was sometimes throwing out the orange front panel light indicator l...

I'm still green as grass with SheetCam and I'm having a steep learning curve with SheetCam and the Neuron Simplicity THC I have been plasma cutting for about a week and a half in total. I tried to cut this out today and had a ton of problems trying to cut the border. It would start the cut then it w...

B&WSeaview - 2Copy.JPG I did this one today even though the temperature out in my shed was 45 degrees C or 113 in F I did a nameplate for my house and the GSD dog that I cut out earlier will be tacked on to the top of the nameplate and painted black. I'm still making lots of mistakes but le...

Re: First Cut

Thanks. I am learning slowly but there are so many variables and it's easy to get caught out and make a critical error especially when you have been doing it for about a week in total.

First Cut

I only got my DIY table going in the last few days and this is my first successful test cut . It's a basic 5'x5' with a Hypertherm Powermax 30, and a Neuron Simplicity THC The part is about 8" x 6" cut from 1.6 mm steel sheet and turned out OK by my standards and will hopefully get better ...
