Re: powermax 1100

Thanks Jim!! I am going to check it out tomorrow. Im mainly going to look at if the torch has been upgraded, cut quality, and cut speed compared to my powerplasma 70. Im thinkn the hypertherm has a better cut at a faster rate. Im guessing the upgraded torch has a better cut than the original? Jim

Re: custom bumper

CPK_jim, Nice bumper, very smooth finish and looks good on the truck. 1/4 inch plate packs a punch up front as well. I bet your happy with that project! Thanks for sharing. I was going for the clean look on this one, I thought about adding a grill guard or push bar but like how it looks without all...

LOL What if that same crackhead get hit by a semitruck, I think those bumpers would just as much if not more damage.......

custom bumper

Well, I finally got around to making a custom bumper for my 2000 Silverado. It is all made out of 1/4 thick steel plate. It bolts on where the original tow hooks were installed, but has new tow hooks incorporated into the bumper that are way stronger then the original hooks. http://www.custompowderk...

Great find, and the price was right. It was way cheaper then I could even think about building the same thing. Its all 2x3 1/4 wall tube and the plate on the top is 1/2" thick. Its just what the doctor ordered for my shop, i put the infloor radiant heat in, so i cant mount anything to the floor...

Schidthead that was very well said!! I luv the FAN idea!! I also like to use a digital cam to do renderings whenever possible it really helps the sale when they can see it. Alot of people have a hard time visualizing what things will look like. Its seems especially those in the position to spend som...

Re: Custom Steering Wheel

Its actuallly quite light. I'd say it weighs the same or less then a stock wheel.

It started out life as a 1.5 inches thick 15" round solid piece of aluminium.

It was a fun project.

Re: A question for the Powder Coaters...

Yes sandblast is the way to go. Powder coat itself is very tuff stuff, the problem usually lies in the adhesion of the coating to the substrate. Blasting gives the powder something to hold onto. It is more difficult to remove coating from a blasted surface then from one that has not been blasted!!!!...

Re: gecodrive shows fault

I dont know how your machine is wired but, on the gecko there is a terminal labeled err/res this is at 5v in the normal running state, and drops to 0v when a fault occurs. To reset it you simply apply 5v to that terminal for 1 sec. If it does not reset then you have a problem causing the gecko to fa...

Re: To Jim *custompowderkote.com*

Well, Jeeplogic is correct your infared curing system is most likely not curing the powder properly. You need to get the substrate (metal) up to the cure temp and hold it there for the required time. The usual is 400 deg. F for 12 min. but some powders are different so be sure to follow the supplier...

I am the one that posted the dryer using pvc. The only reason I used pvc is that is what I had and it was super quick and easy to do. I have had no problems with moisture at all since installing it. Even on the most humid days!!! Yeah, after sandblasting for a while (maybe an hr or more) the pvc los...

Yes, this concept works!!!!!!!!!!! Check out my post titled cheap homebrew air dryer. The copper tubing is more eficient than the plastic line I used but, the plastic seems to work fine. I have not had a drop of water in my lines since installing it. I used the plastic because I already had a bunch ...
