Re: Cleaning up stainless and aluminum cut edges

I spray mig shield on both sides of the stainless before I cut. It helps but not perfect. Since my parts are not display pieces, we flap the sides and then into the vibrator for a uniform flat finish and burr free.

You will need to know both in and out shaft sizes. They may or may not be the same.

Re: Need a ready to cut file made

If you look over this thread and see something you like, then there should be a starting point to get you going. Size would be one question.
I think then we can find some beach scenes to add to it.

Re: Shop Lighting

With my single pin lamps, you run the Hot to one end for both lamps and the neutral to the other end for both lamps.
For the four foot lamps in our garage with dual pins on each end, you run hot to one pin and neutral to the other pin on the SAME end and nothing to the other end.

Shop Lighting

My plasma table is at home in my workshop. When I built the shop ten years ago, lighting was one place I wanted to do right. I installed 15 double tube eight foot fluorescent fixtures. This has worked well but not great. They hum, they don't like cold/flicker. So with the new LED replacements hittin...

Re: Shield Holes Plugging

You do have the RS485 HyT option so here is the problem you have. At 60% soft pierce, you lower the Z rate during pierce to cut height, but because you have RS485 on your Hypertherm, you also lower the 45amps to 27amps during this soft pierce. That is great on consumables BUT, you must compensate fo...

Mind if I ask how you got that so good? Did you hand trace that on a tablet? The detail is great.
Thanks

Re: Shield Holes Plugging

He has soft pierce turned on, so the F150 is really F90 on Z. The problem is 60% is a lot for soft pierce, and he doesn't mention if he really has RS485 plug on the PM85. Set soft pierce to 0 (turns it off.). Can you tell if you are plugging at the pierce or further down the cut? Since you have DTHC...

Re: Hypertherm Powermax 45 CNC Interface Cable

"RAW" voltage is NOT available on the CPC connector as Tom stated. 50:1, yes so around 3volts DC, not 150volts. Raw voltage would mean you would have to open the HP45 and run your own wires out.

Re: Floating Head Post Code

Now that I think about it the backlash compensation is likely causing this. I would try the one without backlash
I assume in Mach you have BL disabled? and nothing entered in the Z backlash box.
