Re: V Carve Help

There should also be a scissor tool for trimming overlaps and look to edit and join open lines to help remove open vectors. You can also select all duplicates and all open to check for issues before you export them.

Re: V Carve Help

I would reach out to Les from SheetCam. SheetCam is only the CAM program and I do see a Laguna post processor listed for Laguna in SheetCam. I'm not sure how Laguna interfaces with G-code. A normal plasma machine you tell the CAM program (Laguna may have their own) what material you are cutting, wha...

Re: V Carve Help

The Vectric web page has some good training videos. Did you get the disc with it? I have V-Carve and Aspire they are way overkill for a plasma machine. I use them for 3D routing work a lot. I use them to draw or fine tune a file and then export it to SheetCam as a SVG file. I can put lead-in and out...

Re: Dan's 5x10 PPLLC & CandCNC Build

What size compressor is on the same panel? A real 5hp should be just under 25amps. The 45XP states 32amps for 240vac at MAX output.
The XP would have to be cutting at 45amps @ 145vdc to get to that.

Re: Cleaning up stainless and aluminum cut edges

I spray mig shield on both sides of the stainless before I cut. It helps but not perfect. Since my parts are not display pieces, we flap the sides and then into the vibrator for a uniform flat finish and burr free.

You will need to know both in and out shaft sizes. They may or may not be the same.

If you look over this thread and see something you like, then there should be a starting point to get you going. Size would be one question.
I think then we can find some beach scenes to add to it.

Re: Shop Lighting

With my single pin lamps, you run the Hot to one end for both lamps and the neutral to the other end for both lamps.
For the four foot lamps in our garage with dual pins on each end, you run hot to one pin and neutral to the other pin on the SAME end and nothing to the other end.

Shop Lighting

My plasma table is at home in my workshop. When I built the shop ten years ago, lighting was one place I wanted to do right. I installed 15 double tube eight foot fluorescent fixtures. This has worked well but not great. They hum, they don't like cold/flicker. So with the new LED replacements hittin...

PS, I don't think SP worked right in 11D post looking at your G-code.
