Re: Steel Prices

Any time you weld or cut galvanized material with a torch or plasma it gives off some pretty bad fumes. One of my employees got very sick and ended up in the hospital. Goggle it and do a little reading before doing it.

OMG Thanks Jason. I use to own a 70 Hemi Cuda but sold it during hard times and have regretted it every since. Will have to cut this one tomorrow and tell my wife we have our baby back.

Re: Promotional Giveaways

If your mind is set on doing this, ask them if you can include a business card /discount coupon. If they say yes , go to Vista Print and have them print you some really nice business cards with pictures of your nicest work on them and a 25% discount on the rear. DAMN now I've got to have more cards...

Re: Promotional Giveaways

Seems to be a very expensive way to get your name out. If you make 4500 of anything you are going to have a lot of money and a lot of time invested. Sounds like someone is looking for 4500 free gifts. I would say thank you but no thank you. Just my 2 cents.

Merica_Metal, are you cutting galvanneal with plasma? If so this can be a very risky thing to do.

Re: Help with deciding between arc light or Dyna torch

I purchased a Arclight 2 1/2 years ago and have never had a second thought about it. The customer service is the best. Like you, I jumped into this with no experience with plasma or CNC. Scott and the guys at Arclight gave me training at their factory and went over every thing from drawing up files,...

This would be a very easy trace. The reason you're not getting help on this is it's a registered trademark and by the forum rules is not allowed to be posted on here. Sorry if it wasn't for that I would be glad to help.

Road side memorial

This is a road side memorial I made for the family of a lady we lost in a automobile accident. 2 layers powder coated silver metallic and black. 18 inch spike welded to bottom.

Mine works like a charm and runs at about 30 PSI low side pressure. Same as in your picture.

Re: Brushed Metal Finish

I have only used the drums from Eastwood. The finishing drums give the best results for me. I have them all but like the finishing drum the best for getting the brushed steel finish. My Contour came with the finishing drum attached so you should get yours that way also. I think you will like it bett...

Re: 'Plasma hood' splash guard

I purchased one and used it for about 30 minutes. It caught on the metal and messed up my cut twice so I took it off and said lesson learned. It is nothing but a collapsible funnel that they sell at wall mart for less than 10 dollars all they do is cut the tip off so it will fit your torch. My opini...

Looking at their website the first thing I notice is they are using a hand torch on their table and it doesn't seem to have any type of break away incase the torch dives or gets caught on a tip up. Their website has very little info on their table and no info at all on the software included, the ope...

I use the Contour SCT from Eastwood with the Finishing Drum to get a brushed steel finish. I have all the drums offered but use the finishing drum to get the brushed steel look. I'm sure you will love it.

Re: Price check on 1/4 steel

I never allow customers to supply steel. Last week a customer asked me why not and I ask him, do you take your steak to the steak house and ask them to cook it. Then I told him if I couldn't make my mark-up on materials I wouldn't be able to keep my doors open.
