Re: Need help with the Monkey

If you were to make another picture of it with a plain white background I'm sure some of us could help. Whit this background it would be a lot of work to try and trace unless you were doing a manual trace which I can't do at this time.

Now it will cut. I have a bad habit of trying to put way to much detail in my drawings so I'm always looking for things like that. Thanks for the share buddy.

Re: File conversion help needed

That's the way I would do it also Acourtjester. I love making layered signs or as we call them in the shop 3D signs. Made one today will post pictures tomorrow if I get time. Cmalin if you were to layer this sign it would look so much better than trying to cut it as one piece and I'm sure your boss ...

Re: Help with union

Do not combine them. Place them where you want them, select them with your edit by node tool and then click on union.. Works every time, as long as you have the drawing overlapped. I'm afraid you are going to have a problem with this file. The legs are way to small to cut.

Re: If you have powdercoat capabilities, do you still use paint/clear? If so, why?

Ok. I guess I'll order that FX1000 then. :) Can't go wrong with the Sharp FX1000, I have been using one for a couple of years now. Order the 3M PPS adapter PN: 289520 and use the use the disposable cups and filter lids. Makes clean up simple and fast and uses very little thinner. Turn gun upside do...

Re: If you have powdercoat capabilities, do you still use paint/clear? If so, why?

I don't have my own powdercoating setup, so cost versus complexity is key. If the customer just wants basic black or for outdoor signs, I'll powdercoat. I have yet to see a good clear powdercoat job over shiny metal, so that's a big factor as well. So something like the tattered flag (with burnishe...

Finished this sign Yesterday. 3 layers, painted hammer gray with cherry red dye, clear coated. Customer was very pleased. They couldn't believe how the letters popped!

Hi Avitek, By looking at your jpg you are going to have 5 pieces fall out when cut. Will need to fix the two pieces at the base of the tail, two pieces on the left side jaw and one on the left claw. Not being critical just pointing it out before some one cuts it. Will still look good if they fall ou...
