Re: Need some help with Powermax 800 and PlasmaCam

Thanks, that helps. Couple of quick follow up questions. Would the torch upgrade for the 800 help significantly on the consumption of consumables? I like the idea of piercing and cleaning up, then doing it again. Will try that out. Any ideas on consumable life? I was wondering if 5-8 minutes of cut...

Re: Pricing Help!, first big order

This is with adding the stakes to cut as part of the design. I had to edit the design a little. You can get 6 to a 4' x 8' sheet and with a very minimal amount of further editing you could get 7 on a sheet. Without the stakes you can get 9. The total cut inches as pictured with stakes is 460" w...

Re: Pricing Help!, first big order

I had to edit the above dxf to connect and eliminate some broken paths but it comes to about 422 cut inches and 5 pierces at 36" tall.

Re: Pricing Help!, first big order

That will make a big difference in how they will nest and how many you can cut from a sheet.

Re: Need some help with Powermax 800 and PlasmaCam

I have a PowerMax 800 that I ran on my table before I bought my PowerMax 1000. I will have to check to see if I still have any of the settings written down as it has been several years ago. Do you have the original torch or have you upgraded the torch? I upgraded the torch on my and it uses the same...

Re: Shop Lighting

I have been considering doing this. If you go the route with the lights where you remove the ballast do you just splice the input wire and the output wires from the ballast together or do you have to install something else in place of ballast?

Re: Pricing Help!, first big order

Will the spikes be welded on or will they be cut as part of the design?

Dave, Just downloaded the program, its a huge help! Is there a way to select when printing just a "customer view", that specifically does not show materials at cost? The Excel spreadsheet that I posted a few years back can be printed without showing the materials cost. http://www.plasmasp...

Re: What is your choice of Plasma Cutter?

Hypertherm PowerMax 1000 and PowerMax 800. I can't give an honest opinion on other brands because I haven't used them but you won't go wrong with Hypertherm.

I would be interested in updated file. This is a great little project and a great example to the students of how you can customize an already great project and personalize it.

If you are using DesignEdge when you draw your weathervane arrow if you will use the measure command it will show you the center of mass which should also be your balance point.

Online sales, walk-in customers get your money up front. You don't order stuff, receive from the company then pay very often beside eating out. I will say though I break that rule for friends and family but even they can burn you, made a metal flag with a name in it for a co-worker. They never paid...

Re: Best Steel for plasma cutting

There will be a MTC (Mill Test Certificate) or MTR (Mill Test Report) for all steel manufactured. An MTC will contain the following information: steel mill's name, heat number, batch number, final test result, steel pipe dimension (steel pipe diameter, wall thickness, length), quantity, steel grade,...
