Re: ELIMINATING NO-OFFSET HOLES

I use a zero pierce delay on 16 gauge. It doesn't completely eliminate it but it helps a lot.

Re: How do you attach individually cut letters?

Lay the letters on the sign and place them where you want them or measure out where you want them. Then lay out some guidelines with tape. In my opinion, you only need a fraction of that much tape. With the T, for example, I would have put a small piece on the top and a small piece on the bottom jus...

Re: Torch Consumables Stuck

There are a lot of posts on the forum about this subject. I had the same issues. I thought there was no way it could be moisture. Three desiccant dryers and a motor gard. I added drip legs, another desiccant dyer and it stopped the stuck consumable codes. I am in the process of adding an air dryer, ...

Re: Not really happy with PM65. Thinking of going with 45XP

When I hear some say things like they updated Sheetcam, I shake my head. That's treating a system like a black box and HOPING something is corrected by changing software. Gcode is easy to learn and follow for what I've mentioned above, and it greatly simplifies this type of troubleshooting. If you ...

Re: Not really happy with PM65. Thinking of going with 45XP

I have had many of the same issues and been beyond frustrated. I might have launched a few things across the shop in anger. It has been a very large learning curve for me. My table has THC but I have never been able to make it work. Jim has been an invaluable source of information and the Hypertherm...

Is this Hypertherm consumable worn out?

Just kidding. I used this one way passed it's life expectancy. The cut quality still wasn't bad but I did start getting an 0-30 code. I probably could have kept running it until it wore completely through. No complaints here, I got my money's worth out of this one!!

Re: Sign Mounting Help/Ideas

What I do is put the holes for the corrugated in the drawing in Corel and then move them to a separate layer in Sheetcam. I leave small pierces in place to mark where the "stems" will be on the letters. I give the corrugated holes their own operation. I make sure to put clamps on the table...

I do not powder coat but the guy that does mine sandblasts and wipes down with acetone. He just uses blue shop towels and preheats almost every piece.

Re: Cold rolled steel cut problem

I cut 14ga cold rolled with a Hypertherm 65, finecut, 45 amps, 200 ipm. Minimal dross. What I do get chips easily.
I would probably lower amps by 5 and speed up to 225 with 16 ga.

That's not an easy question to answer. I personally like Corel others swear by adobe, still others with inkscape, and the list goes on. You have a some options as far as learning. I spent countless hours on youtube with a split screen learning how to use the program. I still have a long way to go ev...
