Re: Design edge not following cutpath

Yep, a hard to see almost invisible line remanent with maybe an oversize kerf setting causing the cut path to wander where it thinks it needs to be.

If you want to upload that pcm file myself or someone else here could take a look at it....

Re: Help me buy the right machine!!

I've had a 4x4 Plasmacam a few years and I've had good luck with it. I made a deal on a commercial shop in an industrial area with proper zoning for plasma operation so I just bought another Plasmacam 5x10 Sampson for some full sheet cutting. I use downdraft with fan out the side of the shop wall an...

Re: Down Draft

Just got done installing the 21,000 CFM table pusher fan & evaporative cooler for the 5 x 10 table. It was 99 degrees outside today and it brought the shop and offices down to about 75 degrees in a couple of hours. The shop was 88 degrees yesterday at 4 PM, way too hot to get any productive work...

Re: 3/16 vs fine cut

I tried it both ways on 3/16" .188 HR & CR , ended up going back to the 45 amp process, bit faster and less (almost zero) dross. Although I'm using AHC so the height stays right at specs.

Re: Adapter fittings for plastic drums

Good point courtjester. Another one is Zoro, ships everything for free over $50 and they are the wholesale arm of Grainger with all the same products, prices are 20 to 30% cheaper. Also, Zoro sends out 20 to 30% coupons all the time so prices can be as much as 50% under retail. This one at Amazon is...

Re: Adapter fittings for plastic drums

That is outrageous.. I don't remember them being that high.. If you can find any sku of mfg numbers they probably are for sale somewhere at much less shipping charge.. If you have any numbers of what you need post them here and we'll give it a go... At one time we were in the moonshine beer business...

Re: Not impressed with exhaust kit

I know this is an old thread, but did you ever buy this fan and if so how well is it working out? Yes, the fan was purchased. I'm just getting it set up now, had the hole cut in the 8 inch concrete block wall. We did quite a bit more work around the 5x10 table and in the shop. In the picture we are...

Re: My New Hypertherm 45 XP

I just received a new 45XP with machine torch (lockout switch) to replace the PM85 on the 4 x 4 table I have at home. The PM85 is going to be used on a new 5 x 10 Sampson table in another shop with a 480 volt power supply. It's encouraging to know the 45XP handles 1/2" metal nicely. That's abou...

Re: Down Draft

My exhaust fan is capable of eliminating smoke/soot with the only thing on the table being a piece of metal less than a square foot. But what caught my attention was when I had the entire table covered with material and started cutting I heard a whistling sound. It was the air rushing through the n...
