Re: My homemade plate roller

How thick of plate have you rolled? I'm interested in knowing this as well. Thanks again! I tried a full 35" of 12 gauge, and it rolled not bad, but my down pressure adjusting bolts started to flex inward a bit. I was trying to roll it into about an 8" dia. Just as a test. I haven't tried...

Re: My homemade plate roller

If anyone wants to build this thing here's the file. I had a material list in the file but it seems to have disappeared now so i'll add it here. The only special thing is to get the keyways cut in the shaft, unless you have a way to do that yourself. I bent the 3/8" thick top bracket in my 20t ...

My homemade plate roller

This is what i came up with for a roller. I used new drill stem and cut spacers for the 1" shaft for extra support, pounded them in, then welded ends up. They came out really straight. The ends i used 3/8" plate. The rest is self explanatory i think. I rolled the 5/8" rebar for the 36...

Re: new toy Plate Roller

I am planning on building a roller similar to yours, how did you determine how far apart your bottom rollers should be? Yours seem to be fairly far apart, but some of the others I have seen online are much closer. I am going to use 2-7/8" drill stem for my rollers, 35" long. I'm wondering ...

Re: Upgrading from pm45 to a pm85

I knew I needed the cpc port. But will I be able to change amperage from Mach3 or will it be the same as the 45? (manually) Also which package would be the best to order? I was looking at he 087135 but it comes with the remote pendant, I have an oxy/ac torch on the table, would the pendant serve any...

Upgrading from pm45 to a pm85

I'm thinking i'll upgrade to a higher amp cutter. I have a 4x8 Bulltear table with the candcnc controls, I don't have ethercut, whatever was just before that (dthcIII??) bought the table in 2014. Anyhow my question is, can I just plug and play with a pm85 or is there anything else i need? Or maybe w...

Re: Need need help understanding how to modify postprocessor

I'm not sure if I can be of help, I use BobCad, but not as a post processor, I use Sheetcam. If you lost your original post processor with your computer crash, I'm not sure if you are aware, but you can download different ones to try from the BobCad site, http://bobcad.com/support/post-processors/ T...

Horse

I found this horse head online, I made it for my daughters school bus drivers Christmas gift. I had to make some changes, it wasn't really mean't for plasma, it had some drop outs. But now it cut real nice. I Thought i'd share it.

Looks good! My one concern would be the bottom of the rear tire looks a little bit flimsy, with the 2 small attatchment points. Maybe its ok?

Re: Oxy flame cutting

I'm using the 11d post from candcnc it has flame and a place for preheat times, but that won't work with a manual lever torch, I don't think, because I need to manual flip the lever for cut, my timing would have to be just right so it didn't start moving before I flipped the lever. Unless I set an e...

Oxy flame cutting

Any tips or tricks on how you guys go about cutting with flame? I have a Smith sc772A torch that has a lever for cut, no solenoids. Whats the best method for preheat, my Z is floating so it needs to touch off, which will put out the flame sometimes. I can make it work, but if someone has a simple wa...

Re: Plate Marker questions

Tie your solenoids together and run them from one output.
have your slide go down when your solenoid is energized.
the way you have it you'd have to have your solenoid energized at all times to keep it up?

Re: Bulk Electrodes, Nozzles, sheilds for Hypertherm Powermax

I found another thread where they have a similar discussion about using the 30a consumables on a 45 torch. Jim posted up this reference in that thread but the part numbers here don't match the part numbers I'm finding on the Hypertherm website. http://www.plasmaspider.com/download/file.php?id=32566...

Re: scribe troubles

Thought I'd update, when I shorted the wires from the control box, it never hurt anything in the box, but it took out the parallel port in my computer, so, easy fix. I just swapped out the computer for another. After doing a bunch of experimenting with the flow control valves and moving regulators, ...

Re: scribe troubles

So I removed the low pressure regulator next to the slide, and tried adjusting the flow controls on the slide, it does seem to be more consistent, and I can make it move quicker. So I moved the solenoid back down under the table also, and it seems about the same. My 'up' movement isnt quite as quick...
