Re: Stainless steel dross

Haven't found a good way but if someone knows of a good tumbler media to remove it; i'm all ears.
I just cut some 16g (i think) SS at 38amps at 201ipm and there was hardly any dross at all. I get lucky every once in a while like that, the rest of the times its a crap shoot

Re: better power supply for JD2 table?

Throw them in a tube of vinegar for a few hours and save yourself the headache or get a timesaver. I never used one but I hear they work great..still waiting for someone to make a timesaver that doesn't cost a fortune

Re: Fume extraction on tables? + water table

Here is the bottom made from thin galvanized sheet metal and riveted and tapped together and I screwed a flange in. The top is just open and L shapped The fine extractor is pretty weak, maybe moves 500cfm. So it will not suck from the other side of the table, only whatever is close I need to make th...

I don’t think the acid works on stainless. Any tips for SS?
For mild steel I have done it and it works well

How do you guys finish your bottle openers and small parts?

Probably going to try a few samples tonight out of 1/8" mild steel. How should I finish them? Obviously grind both sides but what else do you guys normally do? Tumbler? wd40? Trying to avoid painting and powder coating if I can since it will chip off sooner or later. Also assuming 1/8" mil...

Re: Rotary screw drive compressors thingy...thoughts?

Yea that compressor. They say it's 30 gallon but flows like 60. Looks like they deleted it from their website and will post it later.
the 29 gallon paired with my PM45 has been great. I get 60seconds of cutting before it kicks in. Never have I ran out of air yet but I don't do long long cuts

Is the maintenance schedule make them a bitch to own? Eastwood has a 30 gallon one coming out next month...

Coreldraw x6 or x7 is decent. I got mine for $60 I really think torchmate cad is my favorite. Lite was around $250 If they still sell it. Full (with tracing and nesting) is $850ish Plus it does toolpaths too so no need for another software like sheetcam. I love my flashcut software but it won't wor...

Re: DROSS. SHEET PRE-TREATMENT AND POST CLEANUP.

I can cut very dross free on aluminum. I can't get steel right at all lol I've tried some mig spatter spray on the back side, honestly can't tell if it helps any. The best thing I ever did was switch over to pickled & oiled steel over hot rolled. Dross seems to want to stick less and falls off e...
