Re: New to CorelDraw 2017- help!

Hi,
Not sure if I'm doing everything by the book but this is how I do that, it took me countless hours of messing around, it doesn't always go to plan mind!
You can use any font but need to add connectors to stop centres falling out.
Hope it helps.

Re: How many have actually needed high speed THC

Most THC systems have the ability to adjust z axis speed, some will even allow you to tune z axis acceleration. When your speed or acceleration is set too high on the z axis you will experience some oscillation (up/ down sewing machine effect) that will have an effect on cut edge quality as well as...

Re: How many have actually needed high speed THC

I can't say I have needed any faster thc than what I'm getting from my Cand CNC parallel ports system Keith, I keep thinking I will test it with some wild angle but never have done, had some wild enough rising aluminium strips at times which it's done fine with, even when you get a strip jump up fro...

Re: Just playing

Good thinking there, like the shadows. It's tricky enough getting cuts centered sometimes on likes of box, especially for those with a keen eye  I've been finding it easier placing the centre of the drawing on zero, zero in sheetcam and then same in mach lining up with a centre mark on the part.

Re: What can I expect from DIY plasma?

Hi Ryan. When I built my table I started out thinking a bolt together frame would be best, but soon swapped over to being fully welded apart from the rails that the linear rails bolted onto, it was easy enough keeping the main frame square but wasn't sure it would be good enough to run the linear ra...

Hi, welcome to the forum, that's a nice setup you got there!
I'm originally from Lancashire but moved over to Ireland a few years ago.
It is a fair bit to get into, but all good fun or mostly!
plenty of help out there, just ask if you get stuck.

If you have sheetcam you can do that by using the tab tool, just put bend lines on a separate layer in sheetcam.

Re: Stainless rusting...

Also, incase anyone's interested i have found a good cut recipe:- Hypertherm PM45, 30A consumables at 30A, whatever cut speed suits your machine, 3mm perpendicular lead-in, no lead-out, add 0.5mm over-burn and a path rule to kill the torch 1mm before the end - works lovely. ;) ;) Will remember that...

Re: Overcut issue or ????

If I was cutting those I would turn off thc (with the creen button) for that size, or if you wanted to set it on the next part just see what the torch volts cuts at and then match it on the preset volts. certainly turn off for holes under 30mm you don't want it on, best to set up cut rule for holes ...

Re: Overcut issue or ????

I must admit I do spend quite a bit of time adjusting leadin length and type, I'm not sure about saving with tools would be better or not really, one thing that is a good time saver is on the development version is a option to start at centre of holes under a preset size. I've never had much joy wit...

Re: Overcut issue or ????

Nice square cuts! you don't look to have much of a leadin on the round slug, might not help with that tab but would maybe get a better hole. I can only get parts of 10mm up to drop out by having a slowdown rule, ie: say 4mm from end slow to 50% (not including leadout unchecked) and then say 1mm from...

Re: Water wicking is a fast problem

Good point and we'll spotted. I used to religiously clamp to the work piece, but a few months back I saw that Jim Colt said he just clamps to the table, so that's what I started doing just attached the clamp to the table frame and it's not made any difference at all, even rusty material no problems,...

I like how the air cuts out sooner between cuts compared to the powermax 45, presuming it is the 45XP.
You must be getting close to running in that XP Pete by now ;) :P
