Re: Hypertherm 65 w/ finecut

I've had some sort of air bypass inside my PM65 open up when really cold too when it tries to fire the torch.

Re: Slag Build Up on Nozzle

Sorry, I haven't been on for awhile.

Hope you can see in this pic. At the top right in "Time Delays" the box that says "Wait for cutting signal before moving".

Re: Hypertherm 65 w/ finecut

I had that problem just the other week as well! Turned out for me, since I live in WI, -12f freezes any condensation in the lines and plugged the first water separator. But then apon inspection all looks good and clean. After I turned the ready heater on facing the general direction of the plasma cu...

Re: Compass rose

I didn't even notice it was a pcm file. I thought plasmacam saved in dxf format.

Glad to hear it works though for those that can use the pcm file. I will check the crossovers, thanks for pointing them out. :)

Curious if this is working like it should? Is the file right, download right? Want to make sure for future files.

Re: Wall art gauge

I as well almost always use 16G for art stuff. I use other 'close' gauges just to use up left over material. The thinner material warps easy and imo is more of a pain to work with. Thicker material like mentioned doesn't seem to show smaller detail as well as 16g but is nice for things that need som...

Re: Quick Plasmacam pricing of jobs

For a quick simple figuring out of pricing I just figure out price of material used (and usually double it) and then pierces used to make the part (usually comes out to around $0.50-$1 a pierce depending on thickness). The actual cut lengths don't usually make much difference. Now obviously this doe...

Re: Idea for breakaway sensor on magnetic torch mount

Possibly just a simple break away wire connection for the plasma cutter trigger wire? The table should stop as well when no cutting signal is seen.

Compass rose

Drew up this compass rose awhile ago. With one I included a hole in the center for a clock insert. Hope this works, my first of hopefully many file uploads/shares.

Re: Slag Build Up on Nozzle

I remember you saying that if you have a thicker part with a lot of pierces in it you would run threw and do all the pierces then stop, change or clean the consumables and then go back and cut the parts normally. On accident while cutting some art stuff on thinner 16 gauge material with fine cut con...

Great post Jim! I never thought much about what direction to cut circles in. Now I am wondering, when converting to cut paths in plasmacam do they already convert in the right directions to work with hypertherm?

Re: RE: Want to build a low budget exhaust system

Personally I have my table right by an overhead door in the shop. I have three sides sheeted off on the table and then the side facing the door I use two plain old $16 walmart box fans side by side. I open the over head door just to the top of the box fans and go to work. It was a temporary set up t...

Re: plasma cam newbie

Finally found all the info. Sorry, disregard the previous post, I was wrong (its been awhile since I did this). You have to change the BIOS setting for the parallel port in your computer in order for plasmacam to see the computer. Here is a link to all the instructions I followed with my dell and go...

Let me check my table computer for the exact right parallel port address. It may have been something like 256 now that I am thinking about it again. I remember it took me a long time searching the internet to find the right one and it works good. There is a way to check the parallel port address on ...

Re: Ultimate font 10,000

Plasmacam uses the computers font file for its fonts. So whatever fonts are in your (windows Xp for me) file is the same in plasmacam. I ran around the internet finding stencil fonts and just kept downloading them into my font file and now I have all the stencil fonts I need.

Re: plasma cam newbie

I have one 60amp outlet with an extension cord that a drag around from welder to welder to plasma cutter etc. Has been working out great for me. But another thing to think about with power is not only the 60amps for the cutter but another 20+ for the compressor, 15+ for lighting in the area and more...

I didn't adjust anything with the arc shift because I didn't k...

Re: Hello, very new here, looking for info/insight on used DHC

I cut the stainless with a drag tip in the torch which I am sure helped the warping. I am sure it would be much better with the fine cut and machine shield. I know stainless is just going to warp if your doing allot of cutting in a small area too.
