Re: Smallest detail from plasma

I made these for a customer who builds roll cages and will tack these to the cage for customers.

These are 2.5" wide and letters are .0625" inside dimension. Cut with Finecuts on 14ga MS.

Re: Is Initial Height Sensing Necessary?

Your machine will need to sense the top of plate on prior to each pierce. Since I am pretty sure Proma THC does not have any type of ohmic sensing, you will need a floating head with limit switch and will need to set your switchoffset in the Sheetcam Post file (which ever one you are using). Changin...

Re: Fishing in my water table SUCKS. Thoughts?

I have heat trace tape on the bottom of my table - I used Aluminum tape to hold it in place, then I bought a thermostatic receptacle to plug it in. It turns it on when ambient reaches 34°F.

I have this in combination of I use expanded metal on my slats so I never retrieve parts.

Nice Job! here is a set I did for a customer a while back. Sorry to highjack but if you are planning on welding those in, PM me for a cool trick I used that made them run true.

Re: Bevel issue made me punch my kids in the face!

I am in the exact same boat with thicker material and my O-Ring is the only thing I did not replace. Motoguy, did you buy this as a hypertherm Part number or did you measure the original and source one locally? I would assume buying genuine Hypertherm is the way to go so I'll look into it. I have a ...

Re: Ugh. Not cutting straight

I have heard that oil only attracts dust and plasma debris (fine metal). I would say using a dry lubricant graphite would be fine, but I would not add any kind of oil on the bearings.

Have you checked your steps per inch settings under Config - Motor Tuning? Make sure all of your X, Y and A axis motors have the same value.

I have never had issues with my Hypertherm 1250 with Duramax torch. I would love to have the PM85 though. Waiting for Jim Colt contact me so we can put my 1250 in the Hypertherm Museum in exchange for a new PM85!

Can any of you who have used Flame or Black FX post up pics of how it looks when finished? I too am using a lot of the Torch and love the effect for sure, just would like it to go a little farther.

Jim, Nice job on the display! I am curious, what type of filter did you use in this unit? I am thinking about making a couple portable welding fume extractors to use one over my table this winter and one for my welding fab table. Just curious where you sourced the filter and did you make some sort o...
