This is the material I used. Super easy to install, just drill a small hole and pop the clips in.

Re: Drill/tap steel after cutting

Get some rapid-tap and use it a lot. As jim said, a good quality cobalt bit, not the plated crap. Learn to re-sharpen the bit because it will chip if it hits a bad spot. Also, drill at a slow speed and let the bit cut the metal out - high speed will burn the bit up in less than 1/16". Once it s...

Re: Help needed with text

In Corel, just type out your text, then right click on it and select "Convert To Curves". and it will then be ready to edit as needed. If you want to edit just one letter (say connect the center of an "o") then right click again, select "Break Curve Apart" and each lett...

Re: 45xp tool settings

Book settings are usually gold. Because every table/motor/interface will vary ever so slightly and 100ipm may actually be 110ipm or 85ipm in real life, you may find a small adjustment may yield a slightly better result....but usually the engineers who test these things relentlessly at the factory on...

Re: Attechin 2 metal pieces with space between them for effect

Weld some threaded studs onto the back of the first piece, then screw a nut onto it, then through the back piece. For larger spacing add two nuts between and separate as wanted. Then bolt the whole thing together and grind off the rest of the threads on the back. Be sure to use some loctite on the t...

Yea...Ive been guilty of trace paper on top of my monitor. It actually works very well and fast when you are in a pinch. Just lay the screen down flat and trace away....a 5 year old can do it.

Re: Plasmaspider.com web site / bugs???

No problems here. You most likely have Ad-ware or Malware on your computer and the site with all the banner ads happens to trigger it. Here's what I suggest, download Malewarebytes at the link below: https://www.malwarebytes.com/ You do NOT have to purchase, just use the FREE version. The Purchased ...

I usually do mine from either 3/16" or 1/4" Thinner than that and they begin to warp if the grill gets hot.

Re: Weber Grill Grates anyone??

Quick draw up, check for accuracy before cutting. Made with 1/4" slots. One with a diamond? And one with just grates. You can trim whatever design into the middle if you have CorelDraw (.cdr uploaded), should also work with Inkscape or any other vector editing program.

Re: What am I doing wrong?

Is your tank covered? If not your acid will evaporate. As it evaporates it gets weaker and weaker. Also, make sure that NO baking soda ever gets back into the acid tank. No double dipping without rinsing off extremely well or the soda will neutralize your acid tank. Usually if my acid stops working ...

Re: what does the muriatic acid do?

Muriatic acid eats a lot of the dross off of your parts, it also removes all mill scale, just soak and then rinse off. I have left 14ga parts in over a 24 hour period with no issues to the metal but nearly all dross is gone. It will also round off the sharp edges a little.

I use Corel Draw all the time, works great. Check the format in which you export to DXF to make sure it imports ok. Some of the versions tend to have some issues. I found that exporting in autocad Ver14 tends to work best.

When you trace black and white, you are tracing TWO colors, One of them is black, the other one is white. Because the image is on a white background, you only see the black pieces, you don't see the white ones. What you need to do is to break the image apart, select all the white pieces and delete t...
