Inkscape to Torchmate

Is there any way to open a file that was made in inkscape? Whenever I do its just an unusable mess. I'm trying to trace a logo that doesn't trace well at all in torchmate but I can get a not bad result from inkscape but can't open it in torchmate. Any suggestions?

Re: American Force Truck Wheel

Make sure it will save as a dxf, I have a home and student version and it will not save as a dxf.

Re: need help

Haven't fully put it to the test yet. How much spacing do you have between the torch cable and the motor cables?

Re: student version

I had the same issue, that's why I posted that it wouldn't do dxf's so others wouldn't waste their money like I did.

Re: need help

Does it at all speeds. I've changed some settings and have to move my plasma machine further away from the electronics to make sure that isn't interfering with it. As soon as its a bit warmer out I will try it again. Was -20 here this morning and my shop isn't heated so I think I will wait a few day...

I'm running a Torchmate 2 table that is about 8 years old with the blue display AVHC. Latest issues is after about 10 seconds of cutting the torch will shut off and raise up, a second or two later, and a few inches further, it will lower and fire up again all while still moving along the program pat...

By chance have you ran that same program with the torch off,and at a slower speed so you can watch and maybe see what's going on?

Re: Need some help with my Torchmate Classic 4x8

On my torchmate I had to much pressure between the drive gear and the gear rack in a couple spots and whenever the machine would pass through those spots it would lug the drive motor down a little then it would lunge ahead when coming out of it and would be cutting in the wrong spot.

Re: Need some help with my Torchmate Classic 4x8

Make sure all your belts and gears are tight, check for debris in the gear rack, and make sure you don't have to much pressure between the drive gear and the gear rack. What speed are you cutting at?

optimize toolpath problems

I was just wondering if anyone else has problems when importing a file in the torchmate software when the optimize toolpath box is checked. If I have it checked it works great to optimize the toolpath but it will also cut the outside of the part before the inside pieces are finished and that always ...
