Re: Mach3 THC off-THC on g code?

If the torch is diving at the start of cutting (after pierce) you may look to see if you have a delay you can add to allow the arc voltage to stabilize.
This will hold off the THC for about 1.5 to 2 seconds.

You can also move the object by changing the X and Y pos values. If you use the lower left as home the values are the distance from the bottom and left edges of the screen. It does not add or subtract from the value, it changes to what you enter, if you enter .250 in the value it will move to 1/4&qu...

Re: Hypertherm 65 / Proma SD / Fine cut

Ok the Proma units I used supplied signals to the computer, Arc ok, Up, and Down through the BOB board's input pins.
It sounds like you have a different setup, maybe someone else here can help you.
You might list what table and electronics you are using.

Re: Hypertherm 65 / Proma SD / Fine cut

When you do as Tom states be sure to make a straight cut at the correct height long enough for the volts to stabilize then read the volts on the Proma display. This will be your voltage for that thickness of metal, the speed posted in the 65 manual will help for each metal thickness too.

Re: Maybe a THC problem?

If it work fine before and this just started then the wiring should be alright. G-code cannot change the volts it can only set the voltage that is used for a target voltage is you have the electronics that work that way Like CancCNC's DTHC. If you are using one like Proma there is no connection betw...

Re: Maybe a THC problem?

The voltage may be changing because the torch is moving up, could you have the up/down signal crossed from the THC.
Watch the volts as it cuts it may not need correction and after some cutting it needs to correct but goes the wrong way and keeps trying to correct until it gets to high.

Do you have the object selected (arrows and a box around it) if not it will not show in the trace box.
Inkscape needs to know what you are tracing.

Re: Torch Height Issues

If you are having problems right at the start of the cutting with DTHC it may be the delay to hold off the DTHC until arc voltage has stabilized.
I run between 1 and 1.5 seconds. This is set in the tools in SheetCam see attached image.

When cutting vinyl I use a floating cutter head (Sean P design posted here some time back) you just need to be close to level. The cutter follows the surface. http://www.plasmaspider.com/viewtopic.php?f=103&t=22329&p=134568&hilit=vinyl+cutter#p134568 If you want to adjust for a flat surf...

Re: Dual Purpose Router Table

Me having a simple approach if your slats are removable why not get a few new ones to swap out when you want to put the spoil board on.
You would not need a full set as they are just for the support of the larger board on top.

Some software don't play nice, I have downloaded DXF file from here and the will not open in Inkscape. Why not used key hole brackets on the back to hold it off the wall. put anchors in the wall with bolts, mount the sign with brackets over the bolts and then tighten the bolts
