Re: Help with deciding between arc light or Dyna torch

I have a dynatorch 6'x12' with an engraver and the pmax 85. Customer service is top notch. Cant imagine anyone being better. Learning curve no matter the machine you get, this being said operating the machine will be the easiest part. Drawing and making sure the parts are correct is the biggest hurd...

Re: Price check on a piece that someone just turned down...

That cut eyeball test would be around 5 minute cut. A few minutes handling etc.. I always lowball myself but for initial gut reaction is $50. for cut.
Doubt you'd lose money at what you said and it's a deal for them.

I use draftsight for parts and cutting shop from arbor image for my art stuff.
There is a learning curve for these programs but it's worth it.

Re: DYNATORCH OWNERS . . .

Customer service and a great product.
This is my second table from them.
I had some troubles with my table, lightning strike took out a bunch of stuff. When in the trouble shooting phase Leon called me on a Sunday to try and help me out.

EDIT tab:
Select all
Edit Tab:
Uncleave selected poly lines
then optimize.

This will reduce the number of points.

Show all points first if you want to compare how many you reduced.
Hope this helps.

Re: 5'x10' or 6'x12'?

Most of the time I dont need that big of a table. Most of the time I can get by with the 5'x10' table. I have one job that I do that if I use a 6' wide sheet it minimizes the waste that I have. I was still on the fence with jumping up in size but I can still get the artsy performance with this size ...

Re: 5'x10' or 6'x12'?

Well it's official..
I've got a 6'x12' xls on order
tube cutter
engraver
new powermax 85 to top it all off.

I also ordered a spare set of the torch mounts to put a drill on to jewel(engine turn) sheets of aluminum or stainless.
Now for the fun part, paying for it all..

5'x10' or 6'x12'?

Any one using a 6'x12' dynatorch?
Curious as to the cut quality of the larger machines.
I'm very seriously thinking of selling my 1250 powered single side drive 5'x10' machine to a 6'x12'.
Thinking of a 6'x12' with a scribe and new powermax 85 and possibly the pipe cutter.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Poor wording on my part.
It doesn't misfire. The torch drops touches the plate pauses and retracts. Error on screen that torch didn't fire and asking me to retry.

Re: Catastrophic electrode and nozzle failure

I'll give them a try next time around. I do have a problem with the duramax torch though. This problem is intermittent,I might get 100 pierces till it happens or it might give me 5 misfires in a row.(the torch doesn't even try to fire so misfire might be misleading) The machine will send signal to p...
