Re: Need help converting to cut DFX file

If you search the DXF File Sharing forum that Hornet is there in a cut file somewhere. The text you can put together in your drawing program and arrange circular. Should be a pretty simple design to duplicate. In fact the search took about a minute: http://plasmaspider.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=12...

Re: Sketchup make 2017 to dxf conversion, please help!!

One of the primary reasons for going with Sketchup originally was the option to draw in freehand Draftsight is very similar to Autocad which I use. I have not used Draftsight but in Autocad there is a command called "sketch" which allows you to draw freehand. You may want to see if Drafts...

Re: Pricing help on my first backlit sign (photos and numbers inside)

Did you try lighting it without the acrylic panel, not sure that helps with anything. Just roughly for the sign alone, no acrylic no lighting I'd be at $575 add in all the goodies and easily $800+.

Re: Help pricing a sign

I'd be at around $750, delivered but not installed. Although I would do the front out of 12 gauge and the colored backer out of 14 gauge. Going to be heavy either way. Several hangers welded on the back spaced to be able to hit studs.

Just my paranoia at these 40+ lb guillotines falling off the wall on someone's foot.

I worry more about how the customer attaches the wall hanger!!!!!! I stress you must anchor into studs but who know what really happens.

Eagle CP30 Universal Roll Bender

I hesitantly am offering my Eagle CP30 Universal Roll Bender up for sale. I know when it is gone I will regret selling it but I don't use it enough to justify keeping it and continually moving it around my small shop. It is a great machine. Great for rolling tubing frames for art work, angle iron ba...

Re: Accurate time in sheetcam job report?

I have noticed the same thing. I think all Sheetcam does is take into account the cut inches and cut speed to figure the cut time. It does not figure in rapids, pierce time etc.

Re: Small shapes not completely cut. Plasma or software

They all had one coming from the middle of the holes.

From the picture, I don't see a lead in! When you checked the lead in box did you put a length value in the box below, assuming sheetcam.
The other setting to play with would be pierce delay.

Just flat ones. I keep extras sheared under the table and replace as necessary. Just replaced all my slats after 2-1/2 years of cutting. They were flipped over once also.

The way these things have been marked on, white-outed, taped and patched, etc.

Since they are already marked up, can't you paint them black to help in your trace?

Re: Adhesive backed standoffs?

I would do is machine aluminum spacers and weld it to the front peace and bolt it That would require aluminum welding, so I would do reverse. Use the standoffs you show, weld to the steel back plate and a couple of decorative round head bolts through the front aluminum. Makes aluminum removeable an...

Re: Piercing 3/8" thick plate

The Powermax45 and 45 XP are both rated for straight in piercing up to 1/2" steel,

The cut chart in the manual that came with my PM45 does not give the parameters for 1/2" steel piercing, that is why I tried the wiggle pierce.

Re: Piercing 3/8" thick plate

I seem to recall Tom saying that wiggle pierce doesn't play well with the CandCNC controls.

I tried the wiggle pierce with my PM45 on some 1/2" plate I needed to cut for someone and it worked well. Have not had to use it since.

Re: Does anybody else really despise their Torchmate?!?!

It may be easy for me to say but in my opinion if you are going to use this to support an operation in a business you need reliability and support. I wouldn't invest another penny or minute of time in it. Cut your losses and sell the machine to a hobbyist and purchase something that you can get supp...
