Not able to Import or Export DXF. SVG it is till I learn otherwise

Just guessing here as I don't have Corel but did you try "save as" and see if there is a pull down to select dxf?

Re: Railing Inserts

Import that picture into your software and try tracing over it,

Why trace? It is just a bunch of intersecting lines of different widths. Draw from scratch, biggest pain will be tedious trimming of intersecting lines.

Re: Rust finish and clearcoat

You could look into using Corten on those parts. It only creates a rust coating and then stops. Google search. Not sure of availability or price. Otherwise I wouldn't clear coat just attach and let them weather as is. They won't really create flaky rust. I do yard sculptures that have been outside f...

Re: Fishing in my water table SUCKS. Thoughts?

My LDR table has a tank built in. I just lower the water and retrieve my parts. Fill the water again and continue cutting. Takes less than a minute to drain and same to refill.
There are other systems on this forum.

Re: Tips to get more mileage from Torch F/X application?

I don't have any photos handy, but I gave Flame a shot...it looks very, very similar to Torch, IMO. I'm not sure I could distinguish between them after clear coat. However, it reacts INSTANTLY

Are you using Flame over Copper FX or on polished steel?

Re: Mini Excavator Finished File

hanks I have never converted a pcm to a dxf file

Since you posted a pcm file you must have a PlasmaCam with Design Edge. Dxf files are an export function of Design Edge if you have the right version or add on options.

Too small to plasma cut except for the outside outline. I created some using the scribe for the business detail and then plasma cut the outline. If you want cut detail on the interior I would look for a laser cutter near you.

Re: how to remove bubble wrap imprints?

I dry sand by hand but you could wet sand. You want to remove enough surface to remove the imprints. I haven't shipped much, mostly local but I pack between two pieces of that white board that has foam in the middle. I use bubble wrap to transport in tubs to shows but now I just make sure the pieces...

Re: how to remove bubble wrap imprints?

Sand the clear coat with 400/600 grit wet/dry sandpaper and recoat. The imprints should be gone.
I have had the same thing happen but before I sold the pieces. I don't bubble wrap until at least a week goes by.

Paint over with color of choice, then sand/grind down to polished steel should leave color embedded in the engraving.

Re: Still going like hotcakes...

I use them in AutoCad. You need to explode them twice, I think, then select and delete the hatching(fill). They are scaled up to like 5' so I scale them down, put them on layers that I use and then use Polyline edit to join everything. Been working ok like that.

Re: Do CopperPlus electrodes remove the need to adjust voltage due to wear?

I do not adjust my voltage as consumables wear! I have not noticed this creep that you mention. It seems to me the spring loaded electrode would adjust for any electrode wear. I'm sure Jim Colt will have more to say.

Any reason for it to pivot? Why not just weld it together?

Gives the option of better positioning after the mount is hung. Once welded you are locked in.

Anything "custom" that I make gets 100% payment up front. Monogram, custom size, custom color you name it, I can do it but must be paid for up front.
Like little blue choo, I was burned once but never again.
